Steel #3

(1994-1998) DC Comics. Written by Louise Simonson & John Bogdanove. Art by Chris Batista

Inventor John Henry Irons wanted to take up the slack in the absence of Superman after his death to Doomsday. With the Man of Steel is back on the scene, Irons becomes Steel- a sort of more economical Iron Man.

Now Steel finds himself in the middle of a gang war in which his weapons designs are now ending up in the hands of gang bangers. However, John Henry will uncover the ultimate betrayed when he discovers who is behind the illegal distribution of the guns.

The plot is good. Yet the dialogue is laughable and I felt like I have read this before in an issue or two of Iron Man.

Steel is visually appealing. However, when it comes to Chris Batista’s other characters, they seem to be a product of the Rob Liefeld Art School of Anatomy. In other words- the visual appeal is not good. Not good at all!

Not Worth Consuming!

Rating: 4 out of 10 stars.
