Batman: Arkham Unhinged, Volume 1

Arkham Unhinged is a companion piece to the Arkham City video game. Each story focuses on a villain that features prominently in the game. The best story involves a bizarre love triangle between Harley Quinn, The Joker, and the former boss of the Ventriloquist: Scarface. It’s reminiscent of those spooky Twilight Zone episodes where the dummy has a mind of its own.

The book comes with a set of codes that allow you to play a 5 different Batman “skins”, ranging from the 60s TV series Batman to the animated series Caped Crusader. The story that “explains” these varying appearances is the worst tale in the collection by far.

Still, it was a great anthology-type read with fantastic art. Who cares if these tales are canonical to the comics, they were beyond great, and they were Worth Consuming.

Rating 8 out of 10 stars.
