Thor: God of Thunder, Volume 1: The God Butcher

There’s a serial killer doing away with the gods of the universe. Sadly, Thor’s responsible, because he failed in his chance to do away with this “God Butcher” centuries ago and didn’t complete his task. Running congruent through three separate timelines, Young Thor, Modern Thor, and Aged Thor work together and yet independent of one another to cease the rampage of this killer and to prevent all of reality from being faithless.

Fantastic modern stuff. I just adore the character of Thor and his Asgardian comrades. This volume does not disappoint. However, I did notice a red box with the letters “AG” throughout the book. The artist of this series has those same initials and I thought it redundant and annoy to keep putting his stamp on his artwork like that. It turns out the box was a digital stamp for readers with the Marvel: Augmented Reality app to be able to get more details and extended storylines from this work. So, it was forgivable, but it made me want that AG app really bad.

I cannot wait for volume 2 to come out later this October.

Worth Consuming. Rating: 9 out of 10 stars.
