Well, this is the
problem with reading something newer than other works about the same hero
first- you learn a lot of spoilers. Ray- The Atom- Palmer is back from his time
in in the wild. His cavalier adventures as seen in the various Sword of the
Atom one-shots and mini-series is over, having ended in tragedy.
Now, Palmer has
returned to the “real” world to find his father fused to elements turning him
into a living bomb, and experiencing vivid flashbacks from his past. Is the
Atom losing it or are their more sinister forces behind these strange occurrences?
This was a very good
issue, I just hate I read this and not Sword of the Atom first! It gave away
some major plots. I can’t blame DC for this; I just jumped the gun and read the
wrong thing first. It just made for a slightly less enjoyable read. The art is
good and the plot with the major twist reveal is executed very well. I also
enjoyed the aging “Domino gang” of bunglers that our pint-size hero meets at
the beginning of this tale.
Worth Consuming.
