The Scarecrow has never
been scarier. Here, he’s kidnapping kids in order to use their tears to
manufacture a potent fear toxin. When Scarecrow captures the Dark Knight, the adversaries
use psychological warfare to their own personal advantages.
I really like this
volume. The story was fantastic but what made this even better was the art,
which was Will Eisner’s The Spirit quality. Scarecrow has taken self-mutilation
to the next extreme, rivaling the Joker’s appearance of recent years past.
This was the first
volume of the New 52 Batman: The Dark Knight that I have read. But, don’t
worry, unlike the spanning City of Owls story are in New 52 Batman, this volume
is apparently a stand-alone storyline from volume 1. But, that doesn’t mean I
am opposed to getting my hands on that and future volumes of this series.
Worth Consuming.
Rating 9 out of 10
stars.
