"Embroideries" by Marjane Satrapi

WORTH CONSUMING!

Satrapi is brilliant. I’ve never had a writer make such a cultural impact on me- since I read Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird 12 plus years ago. Great stuff. Fantastic. Required reading.

The title through me off though, I thought it’d be like Joy Luck Club, with all the women chatting while participating in a sewing club. I did not expect the title to mean the re-virgining of a woman by sewing back up the Va-Jay-Jay. Nor can I believe I actually wrote the previous sentence.
