Creator, Roy Thomas said
that he wanted to establish Earth-C as a component of the DC multi-verse. This
issue might just have sealed that deal. The Crew has been dispersed through
time and end up meeting characters from DC’s funny animal comics’ heyday. Nero
Fox, The 3 Mouseketeers, and the Whatzit all make appearances in this issue
which adds a historical backstory to the world of Captain Carrot.
Perhaps the most creative story
I’ve read in a very long time. I enjoyed it immensely. Though it’s also Thomas’
swan-song on the series, I think it’s some of the most important work in DC comics’
history.
