With Amy stricken with a mystery ailment that’s considered uncurable, the Doctor seeks out an ally in a young Knight who’s daughter was taken by a dragon-like creature to the “Black Tower.” Adding to the mystery, a blacksmith ends up dead after making a strange discovery about the anatomy of the fairies that occupy this medieval-like planet.
It appears that practice makes perfect, because the art in issue two is much better than in this mini’s premiere issue. The Doctor and Amy really look like Matt Smith and Karen Gillan. The dialogue is witty and written in the style of the show’s characters. But I still can’t shake this feeling that I’ve seen this story somewhere before. The jury isn’t out of that just yet.
Worth Consuming.
