Spider-Man: No Way Home

 WARNING- MASSIVE SPOILERS!

I finally got to see the latest Spider-Man film and it was great! It's a film that I would call a dream come true! Many of the villains for over 20 years of Spider-Man cinema come together to take on the MCU!

No Way Home takes place almost immediately after the events of Far From Home. Mysterio's (Jake Gyllenhaal) final video before his death, implicates Peter Parker to the world as the web-slinger. J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons), from his basement internet studio, has fanned the flames of the populace. Now life is seemingly ruined for Aunt May, Happy Hogan, MJ and Ned.

Feeling guilty, which is another one of Spidey's super-powers, Peter Parker seeks out Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) in hopes for the sorcerer to cast a spell of forgetfulness. But when Peter finds out that the spell will cause everyone to forget he is Spider-Man, the lad interferes and causes the spell to go out of control. As a result, enemies of the wall-crawler have vanished from their respective universes and split over into Peter's.

Now Peter, MJ and Ned are tasked with rounding up all of these inter-dimensional fugitive. And he might have a little help to do!

Yes- Tobey Maguire (Cider House Rules) and Andrew Garfield m) show up! And unlike Ghostbusters: Afterlife, they are in the film longer than 5 minutes! Much longer! If you have longed to see all of the live action Spider-Mans on the same screen- you will get your wish granted. Kinda. Sadly, the original Spider-Man from TV, Nicholas Hammond, is not in this movie. I also don't think the actor who played Spidey on Japanese TV or the one from Electric Company are here either. Unless they made a cameo and I just don't recognize them.

There were plenty of Easter Eggs in this film. Steve Ditko gets some love. Several classic issues and story lines are alluded to. But it was sad not to have any sort of cameo or photo appearance from the late Stan Lee. And it's a real shame he didn't live long enough to see this cinematic fan-gasm become a reality.

I don't often say it when it comes to movies. But this film was darn near flawless. The two extra scenes during the credits helped put it over the top- I give this movie a full rating! It's that good and might just be the best MCU film ever! Move over First Avenger, there's a new top rung to my list!

And now the big question on everybody's lips- Is No Way Home a Christmas movie? MJ's forgetting to take down the Halloween decorations at her jump is an important plot point. Then, in the middle of the film, a Christmas carol is played. And in the final 2-3 scenes, it's definitely Christmas time in the city. If you are a fan of the X-Men, you'll recognize the skating ring and giant tree at Rockefeller Center.

So, is this a Christmas movie? I'm gonna say maybe. I'll leave it up to the fans to decide. But I definitely enjoyed the holiday touches!

Worth Consuming!

Rating: 10 out of 10 stars.
